Tétras Lyre Editions was founded in 1988 by Marc Imberechts. During their twenty years of publishing poetry, the publishing house has developed a catalogue of over one hundred titles, combining the explorations of visual arts with the quality of poetic texts and the demands of artisan publishing. In 2010, Marc Imberechts entrusted the direction to Maxime Coton, and this change led to a transfer of the house’s headquarters to Brussels. Under Maxime Coton, Tétras Lyre underwent a reorientation in their communication and editorial line, achieved their first contract programme with the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, and began a new collection. Today, after four years devoted to the publishing house, and wanting to dedicate herself to a personal poetry project, Maxime Coton transferred the leading of the publishing house to Primaëlle Vertenoeil.

The Guides Badeaux started by focusing on the urbanistic history and heritage of the Belgian capital and the surrounding area. These guides explore and put forward special heritage features linked to economic, social, political and regional urbanistic history. Through a chosen pattern, used as a narrative arc, the heritage is unveiled and set in its context, constantly dedicating to expose history in a didactic and lively way and to give the keys for understanding and analysing its development.

The Royal Institute of the Artistic Heritage (in French, IRPA) is one of the ten scientific establishments within the jurisdiction of the federal Minister of Science policy. It dedicates to the inventory, the scientific analysis, the conservation and valorisation of the country?s artistic and cultural heritage. IRPA represents a unique asset for our country?s heritage, the movable as well as the real estate, and has a mission of research and public service. The infotheca brings together a photo library that currently exhibits over a million photographs, a book library that specialises in art history and the documentary collection from the Centre of Early Netherlandish paintings. Moreover, the role played by IRPA in the heritage valorisation and the distribution of tools for researchers as well as for the general public is illustrated by the publications, the photographic inventory and the organisation of lectures, congresses and seminaries led by the Institute.

Le Taillis Pré Editions, founded in 1984 by the poet Yves Namur, immediately revealed an editorial focus on authors from across the entire world. Due to this focus, you can find poets such as Roberto Juarroz, Antonio Ramos Rosa, Salah Stétié, Israël Eliraz, Nuno Judice and E. E. Cummings, to name but a few. Around a dozen titles appear in this way every year, among which are also some of the best poets of Belgium: Gaspard Hons, Jacques Izoard, Fernand Verhesen, Michel Lambiotte, André Miguel, Eric Brogniet, Liliane Wouters, Philippe Jones, etc. The ‘Ha’ collection presents a panorama of Belgian poetry, whose works are significant but little known or even undiscovered. In this collection, you will find the names of Françoise Delcarte, Ernest Delève, Frans Moreau, Pierre Della Faille, Jean Dypréau and Robert Guiette. This collection generally publishes the complete works of the poet in question. Le Taillis Pré aims to give voice to the words of the poet Yves Bonnefoy: ‘La poésie moderne est loin de ses demeures possibles.’ That is our reason of being.

Le Frémok is an association founded in June 2002 by fusion of two publishing houses of alternative comics, Fréon (Belgique) and Amok (France). Their founders, all comic book authors themselves, share the same passion which drives them to confront the reconstruction of the ninth art.
Le Frémok has become, therefore, a platform which allows authors and volunteers to carry out the most extreme experiments in the field of graphic literature, breaking down the barriers between genres, mixing poetry and politics, world outlooks and visual art narratives, art outsider and philosophical mass, young people’s literature and comic books, contemporary art and demonic series.
Le Frémok still believes in the book, and explores and rejects the specifics of the methods of printing, to make books which blow apart the preconceived norms of production in the genre.

Marginales is a Belgian review founded in 1945 by Albert Ayguesparse, a key figure in Belgian literature. Since its beginnings, Marginales has shown itself to be a voice of Belgian literature in the community, the spokesperson of a collective spirit which is the foundation of all literary reviews and particularly this one, which provoked it to open itself up to hugely diverse movements, and give Belgian authors the recognition they were lacking. Marginales had published 229 editions until its closure in 1991. Following a seven year pause, there was a rebirth in 1998 with issue number 230, published regarding Dutroux, whose marked evasion had shocked Belgium and provided the first theme of the newly returned review. Marginales therefore embarked upon its path of regularly publishing 4 issues per year.

Zones Sensibles is a Belgian publishing house, based in Brussels and specialised in the sciences of men (and also benefiting from 15 years of experience in the publishing world).
‘Sciences of men’ here refers to a vast field of studies relating to the human in various guises (social, artistic, political, cultural v. natural etc.), a field which touches upon anthropology just as much as graphic novels, cultural studies as well as the history of medicine, the world of sound as well as the geographical world, urban environments as well as uninhabited ones.
With a reasonable rhythm of publications (as growing your readership needs time), and supported by a committee of international scientific sponsorship, Zones sensibles will offer works in a variety of subjects, coming from different voices (renowned university academics as well as young authors), and more often than not translated. The points of view from outside being as important, if not more so, than those coming from within.
