Founded in 1971, the ISELP– an institution for the study of visual arts – is a place where contemporary art is approached from different angles which are mutually enriching. This plurality makes a singularity: our activities of demonstration, reflection, research, mediation and publishing all make up the richness of art today.
The ISELP benefits critical discourse concerning contemporary art by offering conferences, projections, discussions, meetings, readings, guided visits, cultural voyages and educational activities. Particular attention is given to the question of art in the public space, by the development of a think tank which leads reflection on the subject, encouraging meetings and offering the public a centre of reference.
Finally, the institute welcomes the main public documentation center of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles for visual arts in the 20^th and 21^st centuries.

The Archives générales du Royaume (General Archives of the Kingdom) and the Archives de l’État dans les Provinces (State Archives in the Provinces), known collectively as the Archives de l’État (the State Archives), are a scientific establishment of the Services publics fédéraux de Belgique (Federal public services of Belgium) that form part of the Service public fédéral de programmation (SPP) Politique scientifique (Federal Public Programming Service (FPS) Science policy).
The institution is made up of the Kingdom's General Archives in Brussels and 19 repositories of the State Archives across the country. From the acquisition of archives to their conservation, in addition to research, scientific research and promoting the collections, the tasks of the Archives de l’État are numerous. Le Daily-Bul is an idea, a review (1957-1983) and a publishing house founded by André Balthazar and Pol Bury in La Louvière, in 1957, on the wave of the Cobra movement and Belgian surrealism. Supporters of self-publication, Pol Bury and André Balthazar have published their works in the Daily-Bul review, where you will also find the works of Christian Dotremont, Pierre Alechinsky, Achille Chavée, Jean-Michel Folon and Théodore Koenig.
The catalogue of the publisghin house Le Daily-Bul  counts more than three hundred titles. Most offer deluxe editions, and a standard print run rarely does more than a thousand copies. In this innovative production, poetry is king.
