Conscious that numerous projects of a wide scope in human and social sciences cannot be undertaken and carried out in a short space of time, UAI has declared itself ready to support important long-term projects. The UAI already sponsors over 3000 works. "Éditions du tiroir", a new publishing structure for comic books, was born from the will of three passionate people active in the cultural field. Christian Lallemand: For 27 years, he managed the financial aspects of copyright within the SACD/Scam and actively participated in the global management of the company. This allowed him to work with many authors and creators, mainly in the fields of comics and animation. This did not prevent him from escaping regularly by working on artistic projects close to his heart. Pierre Daisomont : Business manager, passionate about comics, he founded several groups and collectives around comics. André Taymans : 30 years of comics as an author, more than 40 albums to his credit and a solid experience in the publishing world. Éditions du tiroir wishes to offer comic book authors a creative space based on a new economic model of financing. Indeed, at a time when the status of the author seems to be more and more precarious, it seems essential to guarantee to the illustrators and scriptwriters a fair remuneration for their work and the widest possible diffusion of their works. This will require a mixed model of financing including crowdfunding and own funds.

Publishing is one of the fundamental aims of the Royal Academy of Belgium. It publishes the works of its members, and of the most celebrated researchers.
The principal publications are the Bulletins, Mémoires and various collections, as well as the Annuaire, which contains administrative facts and figures concerning the Institutions and biographical notes on deceased members. These notes have been digitalised and are accessible.
In addition, on the 25th September 2012, the Academy launched a new collection: ‘L’Académie en poche’ (The Academy in Pocket Version). This collection aims to reflect new, interdisciplinary perspectives, with educational points, halfway between synthesis and reflection and the personal reflection of the author. All in all, it aims to share knowledge and tackle subjects which are likely to feed debates in society, in all areas. Two volumes are planned for each month.

The Royal Institute of the Artistic Heritage (in French, IRPA) is one of the ten scientific establishments within the jurisdiction of the federal Minister of Science policy. IRPA represents a unique asset for our country?s heritage, the movable as well as the real estate, and has a mission of research and public service. The Institute also provides the public an infotheca, an authentic information and research centre on Belgium?s artistic heritage. The infotheca brings together a photo library that currently exhibits over a million photographs, a book library that specialises in art history and the documentary collection from the Centre of Early Netherlandish paintings.
