Founded in 1971, the ISELP– an institution for the study of visual arts – is a place where contemporary art is approached from different angles which are mutually enriching. This plurality makes a singularity: our activities of demonstration, reflection, research, mediation and publishing all make up the richness of art today.
The ISELP benefits critical discourse concerning contemporary art by offering conferences, projections, discussions, meetings, readings, guided visits, cultural voyages and educational activities. Particular attention is given to the question of art in the public space, by the development of a think tank which leads reflection on the subject, encouraging meetings and offering the public a centre of reference.
Finally, the institute welcomes the main public documentation center of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles for visual arts in the 20th and 21st centuries.

CIPA was founded in 1965. The main aim of CIPA was to study a language as an oral phenomenon, in order to promote teaching languages and multilingualism.
It’s especially since the 70s that CIPA’s area of activities has widened and diversified. Look, for example, at the organisation of several tens of intensive internships (one for several weeks), in Mons or abroad. These concern the teaching of languages, linguistic organisation, long-distance training, peace-keeping education, linguistic preparation for the international field, the welcoming and guidance of African and Asian researchers as well as the elaboration of teaching tools.

Pastel is the Belgian imprint of l'école des loisirs, created in 1988 in Brussels.
Literary and graphic standards, as well as respect for the child reader, form the foundations of Pastel's editorial line. The varied universes of our authors and illustrators, and the openness to the world they propose are very appreciated all over the world where they are published.
Since the beginning, there has been a strong link between Pastel and the international creation.

Since 1987, Academia has been publishing works in the humanities and literature, driven by the ambition to share knowledge and open new horizons. Initially focused on academic publishing, the house has evolved to reach a wider audience with accessible essays, thought-provoking narratives, and a 100% Belgian literature that seeks out unique voices.
Over the years, the catalog has grown with new authors, broadening perspectives and questioning the world we live in. The books we publish aim to transmit knowledge, spark curiosity, and foster reflection.
Academia is also a human-scale publishing house, guided by strong values : quality, commitment, and close ties with its readers. Because reading is about discovering, questioning, and seeing the world differently.

King Baudouin Foundation aims to contribute to a better society. It is a foundation of public usage. It was created in 1976.
The Foundation is, in Belgium and in Europe, a voice of change and innovation in the public interest and with a view to social cohesion. It seeks to maximise its impact by strengthening the skills of organisations and people. It encourages an efficient philanthropy in individuals and businesses.
As a Fondation, we unite reseachers and key players in certain fields so that they can exchange their experiences and visions. We also ask research centres to analyse the issues of today, to collect and analyse data and figures, and to explore potential avenues. We compile all of this information in reports, and publish them freely. In this way, we tackle a vast range of themes. Our independence and our pluralism guarantee an objective point of view.

Marginales is a Belgian review founded in 1945 by Albert Ayguesparse, a key figure in Belgian literature. Since its beginnings, Marginales has shown itself to be a voice of Belgian literature in the community, the spokesperson of a collective spirit which is the foundation of all literary reviews and particularly this one, which provoked it to open itself up to hugely diverse movements, and give Belgian authors the recognition they were lacking. Marginales had published 229 editions until its closure in 1991. Following a seven year pause, there was a rebirth in 1998 with issue number 230, published regarding Dutroux, whose marked evasion had shocked Belgium and provided the first theme of the newly returned review. Marginales therefore embarked upon its path of regularly publishing 4 issues per year.
