Ousia is a publishing house founded in 1979 by philosophy teachers of the French-speaking universities in Belgium. It aims to publish worthy philosophical essays, not only of well-known philosophers, but also and especially of unknown young philosophers. The spirit which animates it is that philosophy compromises of the persistent implementation of a vigilance, a concern, an awareness whose character resides in the tendency to open itself and attach itself to questions which don’t have a response already.

A publishing house for French-speaking Belgian theatre created in 2020.
Red books, special objects to cherish. The Belgian theatrical creation is so overflooded by extraordinary talents that it must be vehiculated by a medium complementary to the stage. To keep near you, in your bag, or in your library the book of the show you have just seen is a way to extend your memory and to keep the show alive. Stage or office writing, our only common thread is the awakening of humanity, the growth of beings, the sharing, the debates.
The pricing policy we apply is a new experience. Every A5 format book costs 10 euros.
We want the cultural act of theatre to be human and committed, didactic and brave, not for the faint of heart.

Held since 2005 by an independent family shareholder, Mardaga is a publishing house that relies on a rich editorial heritage to publish titles reflecting the questions and debates which animate the world today. It is in the domain of art and heritage that Mardaga first made their name. Three other major sectors of publications were then developed : psychology and health, architecture and town planning, and finally music. The publishing house La Lettre volée (The stolen Letter), based in Brussels, founded in the autumn of 1989 by Daniel Vander Gucht, Pierre-Yves Soucy and Louis Jacob in the background of the non-profit organisation Ante Post, pursues a publishing policy adhering to the following three points :
- The desire to offer, across a range of collections, reflections aimed at the public which look at ethical and aesthetic issues in society, concerning culture and contemporary art.
- The international option which presides over the choice of works of reflection and published creations, and which responds to the process even of thought, a product of the refusal to enclose authors in intellectual or cultural ghettos.
