Description :
With the reissue of Imaginaires (winner of the French Community Literary Prize in 1981), the Académie royale de langue et de littérature françaises honors one of its members, Louis Dubrau, who was elected to the Académie in 1977.
Louis Dubrau, whose real name was Louise Scheidt (1904-1997), was a novelist, short story writer, poet and world traveler, who produced a rich and varied body of work. Fundamental misunderstandings between people, moral solitude and disillusionment are the themes that come up most often in her work.
The four short stories that make up this collection are perfect examples, revolving around thwarted, repressed, even impossible loves and, as a result, their bitter memories, sometimes difficult to unravel.
