Description :
Elton Munk, one of the most powerful men in the world, master of new technologies and the conquest of space, discovers that he is not entirely insensitive to the trivialities that preoccupy his contemporaries. The phobia of «becoming stupid» takes hold of him. So, he decides to have his intelligence insured. That leads him, with the help of a psychiatrist, on a disturbing inner trip to try to understand how the little Monkey became the man he is today, but who fears losing his brilliant intelligence. At the end of this long journey, in a motel lost in the middle of the desert, the revelation will be made. And since Elton Munk is an exceptional character, the outcome of this story could only be extraordinary, in orbit around the Earth, under the astonished, admiring, or mocking gaze of the entire world.
Written between February and September 2023, before "Elton Munk" (whom everyone can recognize) became a megalomaniac and began to truly frighten most of the real world, Inside Elton Munk's Mind, a mixture of humor and clairvoyance, anticipates the profound rupture in our civilization taking place before our helpless eyes.
The author : Ralph Vendôme (a pseudonym) was born in Beirut and has lived in Brussels since his teenage years. He has previously published two collections of short stories and a few in magazines and booklegs. The Umbrella Theory explores the similarities between childhood and old age, and In What World Do We Live (actually shortlisted for the Marguerite de Navarre Prize) directs the spotlight to cast immense shadows on the landscape of contemporary society. Inside Elton Munk's mind is his first novel.
