Festival Voix vives
The French-speaking Belgian edition will be present for the third consecutive year in Sète at the Voix vives festival, from Méditerranée to Méditerranée, from July 19 to 26.
Voix vives is the most important poetry festival in France outside of Paris. The well-attended event combines a publishers’ market and a major festival bringing together numerous poets, actors and storytellers for a rich program of readings on stage and in various places in the city.
Three Belgian publishing houses will be present at the market : L’Arbre à paroles, Le Chat polaire et maelstrÖm reEvolution, while the small-press network Les éditeurs singuliers will represent around twenty others: L’Arbre de Diane, les éditions du Basson, Bleu d’encre, Bozon2X, Cactus inébranlable, Les éditions 632, Le Cormier, CotCotCot, Le Coudrier, Courgette, Espace Nord, La Lettre volée, Lustre, Les Midis de la poésie, Les Oiseaux de nuit, Partis pour, La Pierre d’alun, Le Taillis Pré, Les Territoires de la mémoire, Tétras Lyre, Traverse et les éditions du Vide. All on a larger booth!
Bonus this year, three Belgian poets appear in the official festival programming: Aurélien Dony, Christine Guinard and Mel Moya. Will also be present: Zoé Besmond de Senneville, Roxane Lefebvre, Lisette Lombé, Sita Leval, M’sieur 13 and Laura Schlichter.
The presence of poets, their participation in readings and performances contribute notably to the visibility of Belgian poetry and poetry publishing, which the 2022 and 2023 editions of the festival showed to arouse real curiosity among the visitors.
