Around thirty publishers were present at the Poetry Market
Belgian poetry publishing, which is particularly dynamic, is out in force every year at the Marché de la poésie in Paris, the major annual event for French-language poetry, with several hundred publishing houses present from France, Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Thousands of books and hundreds of authors will be on hand for meetings, stage readings and book signings. The book fair provides also publishers with an important opportunity for informal professional exchanges.
The 43rd Marché de la poésie will be taking place on the Place Saint-Sulpice, near Saint-Germain-des-Prés, from 3 to 7 June.
Around twenty publishing houses will be present at the Belgium Wallonia Brussels stand: les Éditions de l’Académie royale de langue et de littérature françaises, Altura, Bleu dans vert, Bleu d’encre, Cactus inébranlable, Le Boustrographe, Le Cormier, Le Coudrier, Couleur livres, Courgette, Le Daily-Bul, Espace Nord, Les Impressions Nouvelles, La Lettre volée, Partis pour, La Pierre d’Alun, Ravages, les éditions 632, Tandem, Tétras Lyre and les Éditions du Vide. The stand will also showcase recent works by Belgian poets published in France. Eighteen authors will be present over the weekend for book-signing sessions.
Eight publishing houses will be welcoming visitors to their own stands: Abrapalabra, L’Arbre de Diane, Le Chat polaire, CotCotCot, Esperluète, maesltrÖm reEvolution, Les Midis de la poésie and Le Taillis Pré.
As part of the “Périphéries du Marché” programme, an evening dedicated to poetry translation highlighting the work of Tétras Lyre will take place on 27 May at 8 pm at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles.
