Excellent performance of the book market in 2021

The market for new physical books in Belgium FWB increased strongly compared to 2020: +17.2% in value. Taking into account the ultimately rather limited loss in 2020 (-4.5%), the market therefore outperformed in 2021.

The growth of the book market is supported by the publishing genres whose evolution is above average:
- Comics +35.1
- Leisure and practical life +22.2%
- Humanities and technical sciences +26.2
